Tottenham to Sign Morgan Gibbs-White in £60 million move from forest

London, Jul 11: Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of completing a high-profile transfer by triggering Morgan Gibbs-White's £60 million ($82 million) release clause to bring the England international from Nottingham Forest, according to reports on Thursday.

The 25-year-old attacking midfielder is expected to undergo a medical on Friday as Spurs continue to bolster their squad ahead of the new Premier League season. The move follows a breakthrough campaign for Gibbs-White, who scored seven goals and delivered 10 assists in 34 league appearances, playing a pivotal role in Forest’s impressive seventh-place finish.

Gibbs-White’s form had previously attracted attention from Manchester City, but it’s Tottenham who have now taken the lead. His performances earned him senior England call-ups under managers Lee Carsley and Thomas Tuchel.

The transfer marks Forest’s second major departure in a matter of days, with winger Anthony Elanga reportedly set to join Newcastle United in a £55 million deal.

Gibbs-White originally joined Nottingham Forest from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2022 for a fee of £25 million, potentially rising to £42.5 million with add-ons. His expected move to North London highlights Tottenham’s intent in the summer transfer market, with reports also suggesting a £55 million agreement for West Ham winger Mohammed Kudus.
