Tumkuru, Jan 21: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Saturday favoured the observation of ‘’Dasoha Day’’ for mass feeding in memory of the Siddaganga Mutt’s late Seer Dr Shivakumar Swamiji, who was revered as the ‘walking god’ all over the State in February.
Speaking after participating in the fourth anniversary of the Seer’s demise at the
Siddaganga Mutt in Tumkuru, he said the Dasoha Day must be held in all Mutts and the government will not declare any holiday for the Dasoha Day. ``We have to honour and respect the Seer. He believed in the dictum of work is worship and we should follow it,’’ he said.
The Chief Minister said the people of the State have the blessings of the Seer and he felt humbled to participate in the memorial programme.
He said the proposal to install the Seer’s statue in his birthplace will be expedited. Ministers V Somanna, Araga Jnanendra, J C Madhuswamy and S T Somashekar, BJP MP Bhagawant Khooba, State BJP Vice President B Y Vijayendra and others were present.
