Kingston (Jamaica), June 22 (IANS) West Indies coach Ottis Gibson feels that Sabina Park track is favouring India in the first Test.

In reply to India's 246 in the first innings, the West Indies were bowled out for 173. Gibson said the pitch was generous to spin and bounce and it favours the visitors.

"The pitch probably favours the Indians. It's been a little disappointing to see the surface. It's the same for both sides but it seems to me the surface continues to favour the opposition more than us," Gibson said after the second day's play.

Gibson also came down heavily on his batsmen for letting down the side.

"We keep putting ourselves in good position...our batting has been a real problem. We just not have been able to put together big scores," he said.

Gibson said the dropped catch of Rahul Dravid could cost his team. The former India captain was on six, the Indian total at 14 for one, when skipper Darren Sammy dropped an easy chance off Ravi Rampaul. Dravid was batting on 45 when the stumps were drawn.

"I think it could turn out to be a decisive moment as critical as the partnership Harbhajan and Raina put on on the first day," said Gibson.

The coach admitted that India have the advantage but said the hosts can still come back in the match.

"India hold a slight advantage. They have the runs on the board. But if we can take some early wickets and restrict them and chase below 250 or 280, it's still a great run chase for us."
