UB Spirits Sued by Bhajji's Legal Team Over Commercial

New Delhi, Jul 18: A legal notice has been served by spinner Harbhajan Singh's legal team to liqour baron Vijay Mallya's UB Spirits over a commercial.

The commercial shows captain of the Indian cricket team M S Dhoni taking a dig at Harbhajan's role in a commercial for rival Pernod Ricard's Royal Stag.

In the royal stag advertisement, Harbhajan opts to not work at his father's ball-bearing factory.

The alleged spoof of the advertisement shows Bhajji's look-alike being slapped by his father for being incompetent.

The notice states that such commericals cause disunity and friction within the Indian team. For the first time in television commercials an Indian cricketer is seen mocking a team-mate for a liquor brand.

Harbhajan's lawyers have demanded for an unconditional apology along with the advertisements being withdrawn immediately.

Platinum and Royal Stag are competing whiskey brands that come in the same price band.

    First Cricket players should not be allowed to do advertising. Is Bhajji doing this way helping and marketing Mallya's whiskey? good for mallya.
