I agree with Mr. Ganesh, Mangaladevi.

Water harvesting is one of the best ways to store water. There is a need to enact a law by the government so that in all new buildings and housing water harvesting and solar power is made compulsory.

Government should also give the subsidy for this so that people can adopt this. Then to some extent we can save water and energy which otherwise is just wasted.

Renewable energy by ‘pacha bootas’ i.e water, sun, wind, earth and atmosphere will become necessity in the coming days as availability of fuel may cease to exist in the years to come.

Being an Electrical Engineer myself, I have penned down my feelings about "My dream Project" based on the above and would like to share with daijiworld readers if I am given chance to publish this.

I beleive flood ia a natural annual cleansner for the pollution and dirt accumuleted by us evry year.I remember 40 years ago it was brutal as it is now. nothing has changed ,flood comes and goes, people take up the challenge evry year. And they know very well the governament will not change thier attitude.it's beautifull to think how people in our villages so courageous to handle such situations and never seldom depend on the state.

Hey, nagesh nayak, Bangalore, what vivek said is right, if we had that provision to store water of course during summer months we could have used it. Where your communal shit comes there? The water will be used by all be PSUEDOS or NON. As far as govt. doing something, it is just a myth. Please do not bring in your communal venom in everything. Think sensibly.

Reminds me of Sri Kadengodlu Shankara Bhatta's poem-

"PADUVANA THEERADA KANNADA NADINA KARGALADA WAIBHAVAVENU ?

THEREGALANUKKISI THOREGALA SOKKISI GUDDAVA BETTAVA KOREKOREDU

    HAGALIRULENNADE SURIYUVA JADIMALE BADIGOLMINCHINA LAGUGALU

MANEGALA MANAGALA OLAGU HORAGU JNUGUTHIRUVA HANI SONEGALU"

But the fact that all this water is wasted by flowing into the Arabian sea is unfortunate isnt it?

    hi, Ganesh, Mangaladevi, Mangalore,

YOUR IDEAS ARE EXCELLENT & UNATTAINABLE.

STORING OF WATER IS NOT AN EASY JOB.

CAN YOU GIVE LAND FOR THE SAME.

IT IS VERY EASY TO COMMENT TO DO LIKE THIS , THAT ETCC.

NOBODY WILL COME FORWARD FOR THE TASK.

IF GOVERNMENT WANTED TO DO SOMETHING PSUEDOS WILL PUT A BREAK IMMEDIATELY BY SAYING IT IS A COMMUNAL.

It is common knowledge to check the property one buys once in summer and then once in the rainy season. Buying a paddy field in the plains makes a beautiful scenery in summer but the rainy water does not flow uphill.... It is agreed that rice may be cheaper in the malls and hypermarkets but there is really a cost to growing it and this is the reality....

Commercial farming in India was a myth and with the advent of real estate as a major Industry and as a profession to earn big money farming and agriculture with the fragmented land holdings rice and pulses from the megha malls looks to be the only option. Nature needs space where wind and water can flow freely or else such scenes are unavoidable few times a year at least in the monsoon.

Every time we are blaming corrupt politician but for above I don't. Know whom to blame.
I don't understand in the summer season we are not getting enough water, why don't. We collect the above water and use in the summer seasons.
    1. Why there is no way for save above water.
    2. Why we don't. Have intelligent office or Engineers.
    3. Why there some main road only 12ft weight. Before making road only,
Why officer can not make enough width.

Every year floods are increasing specially in undivided South Kanara. Even if these are natural calamities it is better to take precautionary measures for the safety of the people before anything worse happens in the region (flodded area). Real estate prices are high in the region, waiting to go down the prices soon.
Nice pictures of flood by Dajij world.

Flooding has become a regular problem off late in Udipi region, could be the result of massive deforestation. Does not augur well for those residing in low lying areas in this region. What about real estate prices, will they go down?
