Bengaluru, Jun 17: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has written to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya demanding establishment of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) in the backward Raichuru district.

In a letter to Mandaviya, the Chief Minister has pointed out that Raichuru was one of the most backward districts of Karnataka and lacked quality health education facilities and the per capita income is lower than other districts. The region has climatic disadvantages and needs best medical facilities and establishment of AIMS would help in improving the medical facilities to the people.

Science and Technology as well as Minor Irrigation Minister N S Boseraju had recently urged Siddaramaiah to take up the establishment of AIMS in Raichuru in view of the growing demands from the people.
