Puttur: ASHA worker dies of bleeding during childbirth

Puttur, Jun 22: Bhavya (28), an ASHA worker and wife of Balakrishna Gowda, resident of Mura Colony in Hirebandadi village, died on June 20 night due to severe bleeding during childbirth. The new born is safe, it is learnt.

It was the third delivery for Bhavya. She was admitted on Monday to Puttur government hospital as she developed labour pain. On Tuesday night, she gave birth to a baby boy. As there was heavy bleeding immediately after the delivery and as the Puttur hospital does not contain the bleeding, she was shifted to Mangaluru Wenlock hospital. However, she succumbed on June 21.

Bhavya is survived by husband and three children.
