Udupi: Post office staff accused of using Rs 52,000 of depositors money for personal use

Udupi, June 28: Shanker Lamani, postal inspector at Udupi north postal division has filed a police complaint at Hiriadka police station that an amount of Rs 52,000 of time deposit has been used by postal staff for his personal use instead of entering in the post office account during the period Rajesh Acharya, the postmaster was in service in office from October 4, 2004 to March 23, 2021.   

The amount pertains to four time deposits belonging to Sunita Nayak, Poornima Kulal, Asha Sadananda Rao and Sujatha.

A case under registration No. 46/2023 under IPC section 406, 409 and 420 has registered at the police station in this connection.
