Islamabad, Jul 27 (IANS): Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has spoken to leaders of different political parties in an effort to take them into confidence on the Pakistan-India talks being held in New Delhi.

Gilani, who telephoned leaders across the spectrum, told them of the agenda for the talks and progress on deliberations in various sectors between the two countries.

The Pakistani delegation is led by Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar who went to New Delhi Tuesday. Khar will hold talks with her Indian counterpart S.M. Krishna Wednesday.

Khar is Pakistan's first woman foreign minister and the youngest to occupy the post.

India and Pakistan Tuesday set a positive tone for their revived dialogue as their foreign secretaries finalised a host of cross-Kashmir confidence-building measures (CBMs) that the foreign ministers of the two countries will unveil Wednesday. Pakistan Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir held talks with Indian Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao ahead of the meeting between the foreign ministers.

Gilani said the dialogue would cover all aspects and issues between the two countries, including the core issue of Jammu and Kashmir.

Associated Press of Pakistan reported that the entire political leadership extended complete support to the Pakistan delegation for talks with India.

Among others, Gilani spoke to former prime minister and PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif and chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan.
