Mangalore: Fr Peter Noronha Inaugurates Rubber Plantation at Paneer Church

Mangalore, Jul 29:  Fr Peter Noronha, retired Diocesan, inaugurated the rubber plantation at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Paneer, on Thursday July 28.

The church has about 5 acres of land with cashew trees and other trees.  In order to increase the parish burse, it was decided by the parish council to develop the land to foster a rubber plantation.

ZP member Satish Kumpala, Sr Sushila UFS,  TP member Clara Coelho, Paneer parish priest Fr Vincent D’Souza, parish council vice-president Michael Lobo, secretary  Saritha D’Souza, and rubber plantation committee convener Alwyn D’Souza were present on the occasion.

Earlier, Fr Noronha offered the Holy Mass along with Fr D’Souza at the church, which was attended by many parishioners.

Fr D’Souza presided over the programme. Alwyn D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Saritha D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks.  Evelyn D’Sa compered the programme.

The parishioners who own rubber plantations donated hundreds of rubber plants to be planted on the church land.  The revenues over the years will be accumulated in the parish burse and utilized for the welfare of parishioners.

    Good work by the Parish and priest and convineer. The name reminded me of my friend Petar Noronna at airpot in Dharan. How are you man?

    Since place is called Paneer, why not also sell Paneer for burse or aloo paneer? Just joking folks. Keep good humours.

    In todays generation people only think of building houses, apartments ect.They destroy nature cut trees ect.But by planting rubber... we can call it hitting two aims with one stone .By this we can improve the condition of nature as well as this can help in the upliftment of the parish. The parish priest and the convineer have done a greate job .I wish them a good luck .

    The Living Lightly Project is an important part of what people need now — It is that all is not lost, that there are plenty of things ordinary individuals to do every day that make a difference. I appreciate the work of our chruch Parish priest Fr.Vincent Dsouza , convineer Mr.Alwyn Dsouza ,commitee members and parishnors who have been proudly taken up this project.I congratulate them and i wish them best of luck may God bless them and may their work be a grand success.

    I feel proud to tell our Church owns a lot of land,till today we did not think of the rubber plantation.The land was like a good for nothing crude piece.But after the arrival of the new parish priest Fr.Vincent it is no more a good for nothing land. He and Mr.Alwyn has worked very hard in rubber plantation .I wish them good luck in this project.May god bless them and bring them success.Their hard work is noteable and honourable.

    we congragulate paneer church priest, convineer and parishnor. We heard that Fr.Vincent D'souza and convineer Mr.Alwyn D'souza worked hard with the help of parishnors and doners.Their hard work and sacrifices are is honourable.
