Mysore: Student Jumps to Death from Moving Train

Mysore, Aug 1 (Star of Mysore): S. Meghasri (20), a third year B.Sc student of MMK & SDM College, Krishnamurthypuram in city, reportedly committed suicide by jumping off from a moving train near Ashokapuram Railway Station here this morning.

She is learnt to be the only daughter of Srikanta Sharma, a resident of Hebbal 1st Stage and a BEML employee.

Meghasri, after finding the final year B.Sc. syllabus too tough, went into deep depression, for which she underwent counselling, according to her friends.

Meghasri, who stayed in her uncle Balakrishna's residence located close to the city court for the past few days, reportedly boarded a Nanjangud bound train at Chamarajapuram Railway Station. As the train was approaching Ashokapuram Railway Station at about 9.30 am, Meghasri reportedly jumped off from the train, hitting the Railway installations along the track, resulting in fatal head injuries, it is learnt. ACP Vishnuvardhan, Ashoka-puram Inspector Nanjunda and staff visited the spot.
