Mangalore: Rains Resume in Evening After Sunny Weather

Mangalore, Aug 2: During the day, both Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts enjoyed sunshine for most part of the day on Monday August 1. However, since late evening, intensity of rains increased, and the downpour continued during major part of the night.

During the day on Monday, Sullia, Puttur, Beltangady and Bantwal taluks experienced light rains. The city accounted for intermittent rains during this period. Udupi and Kundapur taluks also got scant rains, with Karkala taluk getting good rains.

The meteorological department, through a communiqué, has warned the fishermen not to undertake fishing activities, as the coast is expected to experience strong winds with a velocity of between 45 and 55 kms per hour during the next 24 hours.
