Chamarajanagar: Accident in Kollegal Taluk Claims Five Lives

Chamarajanagar, Aug 5: Five persons were killed instantly and seven others grievously injured when a Tata Sumo vehicle hit a roadside tree at Chikkinduvadi village in Kollegal taluk of Chamarajanagar district on Thursday August 4.

Harish (28), and Ramachandra (27), from Kushalnagar in Kodagu district, vehicle driver, Anand (22), Vijay (28) from Anekal taluk, and Deepak, whose native place is unknown, lost their lives in the accident. Muniyappa, Suresh and Srinivas, natives of Ajjipura, Sadiq from Hiriyur, Anil Kumar from Anekal and Subhas from Bihar, who sustained grave injuries, are being treated in a hospital.

All these people were employees of Sriram Earth Movers, Bangalore. They had come to attend the wedding ceremony of Rajendra, a colleague, which was held at Ajjipura in Kollegal taluk on Wednesday. They were returning to Bangalore, when their vehicle met with an accident.
