Bantwal, Aug 8: ‘Payana – 2011’, a distinct educational programme for the first time in the state having the theme home study to school studies, was inaugurated in the taluk here on Saturday August 6.

The programme was held at Loretto Church hall, here on Saturday, to create awareness among the student fraternity over those who study at home and free study in the school. 

It was organized to lay emphasis on equality in education for needy home-studying students.
The education department officer, teachers, local people’s representatives, heads of social welfare and voluntary organizations, office-bearers of school betterment committee, and parents of students attended the programme.

TP president Shailaja Shetty, vice-president Dinesh Amtoor, ZP member M S Mohammed, entrepreneur Hanif Goltamajal, Lions Club president Dr Vasant Baliga, Loretto parish priest Fr Cyprian Pinto, education officer Sudhakar K, co-ordinating officer Kamalaksha, block resource person Sunil Sequeira, resource persons Babu Naik, Ravindra K, and Nita Gatti explained the essential need of home-study students to pursue studies in schools.
