Doha: MCA conducts 13th annual general body meeting

Doha, Sep 4: Mangalore Cultural Association (MCA), a renowned community aegis to ICC, under Embassy of India organized its 13th annual general body meeting on August 24 at ICC-Ashoka Hall.

The AGM began with the MCA anthem. Following this MCA president Aloysius D’Souza and vice-president Sandeep Noronha escorted the advisor Felix Lobo to the stage. General secretary Gladson Almeida and treasurer Clement Fernandes too were present on the dais.


After Aloysius D’Souza delivered the keynote address and welcomed the gathering, general secretary Gladson Almeida presented the annual report of MCA, highlighting MCA’s programs and achievements in the year 2022-23. Thereafter treasurer Clement Fernandes presented the annual financial report. Both the reports were approved and accepted by the gathering.

Addressing the gathering Felix Lobo urged the members to strengthen the MCA and enhance the unity among community members. The stage programme came to an end with the vote of thanks proposed by Sandeep Noronha.

Following this a short cultural programme was held. The cultural programme has begun with the live singing of Chandamama song by little Anjes Pinto. Wilfy Rebimbus’ cult song ‘Aya Mesth’ was then presented by Kirtan Rodrigues and Eva Wilma Pinto, much to the appreciation of the gathering. A short comedy skit by George Menezes, Clement Fernandes and Anil Fernandes was the highlight of the evening. The cultural programme came to an end with the Baila songs by Praveen Lobo, Santhosh D’Cunha, Carol D’Souza, Clement Fernandes and Naveen D’Souza.

While Jovial D’Souza compered the stage programme, Carol D’Souza was the emcee for the cultural programme.

The AGM came to an end with the sumptuous dinner.
