Udupi, Sep 5: Udupi district Karyaniratha Patrakartara Sangha as part of Independence Day felicitated at his residence, K Shivashankar, who retired as senior assistant editor at Udayavani newspaper after serving them for the last 35 years.
Udupi district spokesperson Manjunath felicitated K Shivashankar and his wife. Shivashankar said that there is no voice for journalists who become the voice for the problems, pain and sufferings of people.
“Journalists have the capacity to see through religion, caste and creed. I like the journalism profession even though we cannot make a name and earn wealth in it. We have an opportunity to continue writing even after our retirement,” he said.
Udupi district Karyanirata Patrakartara Sangha president Rajesh Shetty Alevoor, chief secretary Nazir Polya, treasurer Umesh Marpalli, journalists Shashidhar Mastibailu and Umesh Kukkupalke were present.
