Mangaluru, Sep 11: Dinesh Gundurao, the District In-Charge Minister, announced that a budget proposal of INR 49.50 crore has been submitted for the third phase of development work at the fishing harbor.

Addressing the media on Monday, September 11, Dinesh Gundurao stated that the government has fulfilled its promise of addressing the issues faced by fishermen within the first 100 days of its term. He revealed that a fund of INR 50,000 will be allocated to convert petrol and diesel fishing boats into kerosene engine fishing boats. An overall budget of INR 20 crore has been earmarked for this initiative, which aims to convert 4,000 kerosene engine boats.

Furthermore, Minister Gundurao announced the extension of interest-free loan limits from INR 50,000 to INR 3 lakh to further support the fishing community.

In addition to the fishing harbor development, the government has approved the establishment of an IT park on 3 acres of KEONICS land in Derebail. The Request for Proposal (RFP) for the project is expected to be prepared within the next two months. Additionally, the government has directed the invitation of tenders for shops in the Kadri Park Road area.
