Madikeri: Union urges govt to declare Kodagu as drought-affected district

Madikeri, Sep 14: Kodagu district is facing a drought-like situation due to deficit in rainfall. As a result, the 56th annual general meeting of the Kodagu District Cooperative Union has decided to urge the government to declare Kodagu as a drought-affected district.

The members also demanded the government to supply free electricity till 10hp pump sets for the coffee growers.

The district union president, A K Manu Muthappa said, “The members of the cooperative society should actively participate in all the activities and attend the annual general meetings. As per the request of the member societies, various workshops and training on the cooperative sector will also be organised.”
