Mangaluru: MSNIM KCCI Career Expo 2023 job fair organised

Mangaluru, Sep 17: Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM) and Kanara Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) organised the MSNIM KCCI Career Expo 2023, an open-to-all job fair, on Friday, September 15 at MSNIM Besant Campus at Bondel here. About 750 job aspirants, mainly graduates in B Com, BBA, MBA and M Com streams and 37 companies participated in the job fair, offering pay scales ranging from Rs 2 lac to Rs 6 lac per annum.

KCCI president M Ganesh Kamath was the chief guest for the inauguration ceremony at 9.30 AM. Manel Annappa Nayak, president of WNES, presided over the programme. KCCI director P B Ahmed Mudassar, Jeevandas Narayan, secretary WNES and correspondent MSNIM, and K V Raghav Kamath, member of the governing body of MSNIM, were present. The programme began with the unveiling of the 25th anniversary logo of MSNIM as a kick-start to the institute’s Silver Jubilee celebrations. 

In his address, the chief guest, M Ganesh Kamath, spoke on how students should have dreams and try to begin their careers in Mangaluru and make the city a centre of employment. "Students can become entrepreneurs or job seekers, but always be ready with your skills and be able to establish yourselves in Mangaluru itself," he advised.

Jeevandas Narayan observed that students should have the skills and ability to take a job. Students should know their domain and have a continuous learning process with ability, adaptability and resilience, he said.

P B Ahmed Mudassar highlighted the fact that MSNIM was the first institute to sign an MOU with KCCI and this has helped in building up industry-academia collaborations in the entire region. "This is KCCI’s first collaboration with any academic institution for a job fair, and we are extremely happy with the responses both from the recruiting companies and aspiring candidates," he said.

In his presidential address, Manel Annappa Nayak said that students should have the mindset to adjust to any given environment. "Industry-academia collaboration is the best thing happening today, and it helps both sectors grow. We are extremely happy to collaborate with KCCI," he said.

The institute director, Dr Molly S Chaudhuri, gave the welcome address and introduced the programme. Assistant professor Suresh Shenoy gave the vote of thanks. Assistant professor Nanditha Sunil introduced the Silver Jubilee logo. Assistant professor Dr Reema Agnes Frank was the programme coordinator, and first year MBA student Twinkle was the master of ceremonies.
