Mangaluru: Newly appointed Mayor Sudhir Shetty Kannur felicitated at St Francis Xavier Church, Bejai

Mangaluru, Sep 17: St Francis Xavier Church, Bejai, Commission for Social Development along with the Catholic Sabha Bejai Unit felicitated the newly appointed mayor of Mangaluru City Corporation, Sudhir Shetty Kannur.

Fr Dr J B Saldanha was the president of the program. The other guests were Fr Robert D'Souza, principal of Lourdes Central School, Fr Suraj Lobo assistant parish priest, deacon Br Leston Lobo, Sr Sevrine Crasta superior St Angela Convent, Ashok Pinto, vice president, Bejai Pastrol Parishad, Avitha Pinto, secretary, Bejai Parish Parishad, Felcy D'Almeida, president and Rose Marie D'Souza, secretary of Catholic Sabha, Godwin Pinto coordinator for 21 Commissions, Joy Saldanha, coordinator and Daisy D'Souza, secretary of Commission for Social Development.

Ashok Pinto welcomed the gathering, Avitha Pinto introduced the mayor, Sudhir Shetty Kannur. Mayor Sudhir Shetty Kannur was honoured by the president and other guests on the dias with a shawl, peta, garland and flowers.

Sudhir Shetty spoke about his childhood, his business and his political life, and how he came up to become a mayor of Mangalore City Corporation.

Fr J B Saldanha gave the presidential address. Godwin Pinto compered the program. Felcy D'Almeida proposed a vote of thanks.
