Udupi, Aug 19: District BJP president, Udayakumar Shetty, said that arrangements are in full swing to extend a warm welcome and felicitation to the local MP-turned-Chief Minister (CM), D V Sadananda Gowda, on his maiden visit after becoming CM to the district on Saturday, August 20. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday August 18, he said that the CM will be received at the border of the district, Hejmady, at 2 pm. The programmes, in which the CM will be participating, are as follows:
Saturday 2.20 pm – Travellers Bungalow Udupi, 2.45 pm – Inauguration of indoor stadium at Ajjarkad, 3.45 pm – Foundation stone laying ceremony for the statue of Madhwacharya near Malpe Beach, 4 pm – Inauguration of the administrative office of Malpe Fishing Port followed by felicitation by fishermen, 4.45 pm – Visit to district BJP office, 5.45 pm – Felicitation by district BJP at Shyamili Auditorium, 7.45 pm – Interaction with Sri Kashi Mutt Swamiji at Hemmady, 8.30 pm – Visit to Kollur Temple.
Sunday 9 am – Hattinangady, 10 am – Anegudde Temple, 10.45 am – Inauguration of Yatri Nivas of Divine Park Saligrama, 12 pm – Visit to Srikrishna Mutt, 1.15 pm – Visit to Udupi Venkataramana Temple, 1.45 – TAPMI Manipal, 2.40 pm – Visit to Anegundi Mutt Katapadi, 3 pm – Kaup BJP programme, 3.45 – Departure to Mangalore airport.
The CM will be taken from the BJP office here to Shyamili Auditorium in a vehicular jatha and procession. The vehicular jatha, which had been planned to be taken from Hejmady earlier, was cancelled because of traffic snarls it would have given rise to. A memorandum spelling out the needs of the district for its overall development will be submitted to the CM on this occasion, Shetty added.
BJP general secretary, Tingale Vikramarjun Hegde, APMC president, Suresh Nayak, and others were present at the press conference.
