Bangalore: Yeddy Hell Bent on Retaining Lucky Residence

Daijiworld Media Network – Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Aug 20: Sources in the BJP said Yeddyurappa has been making all out efforts to retain his government bungalow on Race Course Road in the city, as he firmly believes that has remained lucky for him.  During the period he lived in this bungalow had Yeddyurappa risen from being the opposition leader in the assembly to the Chief Minister.

After he climbed down from the post of the Chief Minister, Yeddyurappa had three months time to vacate the building. After the expiry of this period, rent at market rates, which may be around Rs 40,000, can be charged on the concerned, by the public works department. Sources said that Yeddy has been making efforts to retain this bungalow by getting it allotted to his close confidante, Ramachandra Gowda.

Ramachandra Gowda, who lost his position as a state minister, has been given the post of the deputy chairman of the state planning commission. This post enjoys facilities similar to ministers. In the past too, when Yeddy was a minister in the Kumaraswamy-led government, he had got the neighbouring bungalow sanctioned in the name of Ramachandra Gowda and then made use of it. Ramachandra Gowda, who has his own house in Basaveshwarnagar here, did not opt to shift to a government accommodation, although be became minister twice.

Yeddy, who was given this bungalow when he was the opposition leader during the period of Dharam Singh, continued to keep the same even after becoming deputy Chief Minister in the JDS-BJP coalition government. He has been living in this bungalow since 2004. Even after he became Chief Minister, Yeddyurappa did not choose to shift to ‘Anugraha’, which is the official residence of the Chief Minister of Karnataka, citing Vaastu Dosha. In the meantime, new CM, Sadananda Gowda, has shifted himself into ‘Anugraha’ disregarding the Vaastu problems as pointed out by Yeddyurappa.
