Udupi, Aug 21: Retired army officer K Boja Hegde Tadekallu (74) passed away at Manipal Hospital here on Friday August 19.

He has served in the army for almost 30 years in different capacities. He has also worked in Egypt with the peace keeping force of India. He had participated in the India-pakistan and India-Bangladesh wars.  After retirement he had involved himself in the agricultural activates and also took part in various social welfare programmes. Hegde is survived by wife, two sons and two daughters.

During his last rights rituals, former MLA K Jayaprakash Hegde, entrepreneur Pramod Madvaraj, zilla panchayat former president B Bujanga Shetty, Brahmavar block Congress president Rajesh Shetty among others were present.
