Mumbai, Oct 11: Bharath Cooperative bank held their first meeting of the newly elected board of directors at their head office, Goregaon east. The final election for the board of directors for the term of 2023-2028 was conducted by chief election officer, additional registrar of cooperative societies, A K Chawhan. He announced the names of newly elected directors for the term of 2023-28. Suryankanth Jaya Suvarna was elected as chairman and advocate Somanath B Amin was elected as vice chairman.

The 17 directors who were elected in general category were Suryakanth J Suvarna, advocate Somanath B Ameen, Ashok M Kotian, Jaya A Kotian, Chandrashekar S Poojary, Naresh K Poojary, Niranjan Lakshman Poojary, Santhosh K Poojary, Dayananda R Poojary, Ganesh D Poojary, Gangadhar J Poojary, Harish V Poojary, Mohandas G Poojary, Bhasker M Salian,
Narayana L Suvarna, Narayana V Suvarna Karnad and Suresh B Suvarna. Asha R Bangera and Jayalakshmi P Salian were elected from the female category. Anbhalagan C Harijan was elected from SC/ST category unopposed.

Additional election officer Sandeep Deshmukh, assistant election officer D B Goswamy, Bharath bank managing director and CEO Vidyananda S Karkera, joint managing director and assistant election officer Dinesh B Salian, assistant election officer and marketing head Rohith Udyavar and others were present.
