Bengaluru, Oct 19: In a bid to counter the rebellion by State JD(S) President C M Ibrahim and his supporters within the party, JD(S) supremo and national president H D Deve Gowda has ordered immediate dissolution of the entire State Executive Committee, including its President and appointed his son H D Kumaraswamy as the Ad-hoc party Chief.

Ibrahim, the former Union Minister, has quit Congress as its MLC and joined the JD(S) ahead of the 2023 assembly polls and was immediately appointed as the State President.

However, Ibrahim has publicly expressed his opposition to the decision of Deve Gowda and Kumaraswamy to align the JD(S) with BJP-led National Democratic Alliance.

Ibrahim, who was inducted into the JD(S) with an eye on the minority Muslim community votes, had opposed JD(S)-BJP alliance for the ensuing Lok Sabha polls.

Now that the father-son duo of Deve Gowda and Kumaraswamy, have made the first move by dissolving the entire Executive Committee and appointing an interim ad-hoc president, it remains to be seen what Ibrahim decides to do next.

There is speculation that Ibrahim might move over to the Congress in the coming days.
