Kundapura, Oct 21: The V8 series vehicle of Ford Company, which was used for many years in Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala and later scrapped, was given a new lease of life by Manjunatha Acharya, owner of Malyadi Sri Gajanana truck body building and welding works near Thekkatte in the taluk.

The renovated truck was handed over to Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala. This mini truck of 1948 model was used for 30 years totransport goods of the temple and also in the Dharmasthala yakshagana troupe.

The truck was lying in the Manjusha Museum shed. Dr Veerendra Heggade who saw the truck, decided to give in to the new design and renovate the same. Accordingly, the truck was handed over to Manjunatha Acharya.

the tinkering work of the truck was done by Lawrence Baretto. Body work was done by Vignesh Acharya, Nitish Acharya, Harish Acharya, sons of Manjunatha Acharya. The colour design was done by Lakshmana Kumbashi team.

The truck's electrical work was done by Manjunatha Manoor of Sri Laxmi Electricals. The performance of the tyre was increased by Harish. Painting artist Nagaraj Beejadi enhanced the looks of the vehicle through oil painting and artistic writing.

The newly renovated truck that was completely redesigned under the special care of Divakar Prabhu, CEO of Dharmasthala Manjusha Museum is open for public viewing now.
