Mangalore: Festival Season – Railway Department Introduces Special Trains

Mangalore, Aug 27: To manage heavy rush of passengers during the ensuing festival season of Ramzan, Ganeshotsava and Onam, the department of railways has introduced special trains as follows.

Nagercoil-Mangalore-Nagercoil special train, which moves via Kannur, Ernakulam and Thiruvananthapuram, will begin its onward journey from Nagercoil at 4.50 pm on August 29, and reach Mangalore Junction station at 10.30 am the next day. On its return journey, it will leave Mangalore Junction station at 1.35 pm on August 30, and reach Nagercoil at 4.45 am the next day.

The Chennai Central –Mangalore-Chennai Central special train, which will move via Coimbatore, will leave Chennai at 8.45 pm on September 7, and reach Mangalore Central station at 1 pm the next day. It will leave Mangalore Central station at 8.30 pm on September 8, and reach Chennai Central station at 12.25 pm the next day.

A release by the department also said that bookings for these trains have already begun.
