Ponting and wife Rianna blessed with second child

Canberra, Sep 8 (IANS) Former Australian Captain Team captain Ricky Ponting and wife Rianna Thursday celebrated the birth of their second child in Sydney.

Ponting, who flew home to Australia following his team's win in the first Test over Sri Lanka at Galle (Sri Lanka), chose to miss the second Test in Kandy to be with his wife for the birth of their child.

The Xinhua reported that the newborn daughter has been named Matisse Elle and is a sister for three-year-old Emmy.

Ponting is now expected to return to Sri Lanka for the third Test in Colombo starting Sep 16.

Shaun Marsh was the replacement for Ponting in the second Test that started in Kandy Thursday.
