Sullia: Flash Flood - Farmer Washed Away

Sullia, Sep 12: Dhananjaya Poojary (59), a farmer from Sampaje Bachigadde, was washed away due to flash floods in Keelaru rivulet on Saturday September 10. He is survived by wife, three daughters, and a son.

Poojary was going to the town to bring copper sulphate for his farm. On the way, he was crossing Keelaru rivulet, when the water level in the rivulet suddenly rose because of rains at higher altitudes. Due to the unexpected force of the water, Poojary fell down, and was washed away instantly. His body, which had got stuck in bushes near Kallugundi, was recovered on Sunday.

Policemen and local gram panchayat member, Jagadish Rai, on sighting the body, made arrangement to lift it out with the help of the locals, and to conduct post mortem.
