Bangalore, Sep 14: Sandalwood actor Darshan, whose bail plea was rejected on Tuesday September 13 by the First Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, has now made a fresh plea for bail in the sessions court.

Darshan is facing charges of assaulting and threatening his wife Vijayalaxmi and their child.

On Tuesday, First Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Venkatesh Hulagi had rejected his bail petition stating that he did not have jurisdiction to handle the case filed under IPC Section 307 (attempt to murder).

Vijayalaxmi had initially accused her husband of assaulting and threatening her at gunpoint and even peircing her face with lit cigarettes. However, she later retracted her statement and said that she had suffered her injuries from a fall in the bathroom. Despite the change in her stance, Darshan was not able to get a bail.

He was arrested on September 9 and was later admitted to hospital for jaundice and asthma.
