Mangalore: Night Patrol Police Foil ATM Robbery Attempt

Mangalore, Sep 17: Thieves attempted to rob the ATM of a nationalised bank located in Kinnigoli, near here, in the wee hours of Friday September 16.
 
The thieves tried to break open the cash hold of an ATM of Syndicate Bank, Kinnigoli branch, at about 2.20 am on Friday.  However, the night patrol reached the spot when an alarm went off during the attempt to rob Indian currency, informed police sources.


 

Although the police gave chase, the thieves managed to escape in the darkness. Mulky police registered a case in this regard.  Top police officials also visited the spot.

    Good work by Police.

    Next time these robbers will try after a month like most thieves, so police needs to prepare the trap carefully.

    Also, banks should not load excess cash in ATM during evening times.

    Simple way to catch thieves:
    1. Keep new notes only in ATM
    2. Keep note numbers of high denominations tracked every time the ATM is being filled.
