Mangalore: Holy Cross Church Cordel Celebrates Annual Feast with Zest

Mangalore, Sep 18: The annual feast of Holy Cross church Cordel, Kulshekar was celebrated on Sunday September 18.

The programme commenced with the Holy Eucharistic mass at 9.30am. Fr Pius D’Souza, superior, Infant Jesus Monastery was the main celebrant of the mass.  He was accompanied by parish priest Valerian Pinto, Fr Vincent Saldanha, assistant administrator of Fr Muller Hospital, assistant parish priest Fr John Baptist Moras and Fr Melwyn Norohna, and several other guest priests.

The people of the community offered the mass and thanked the almighty for his abundant grace throughout the year. The enlightening homily was preached by Fr Vincent Saldhana. He said that the cross remains as a hope, inspite of all the difficulties and hurdles inour lives he added that Almighty grants his helping hand whenever an individual seeks his assistance through the holy cross, the only symbol of victory towards eternity.

Fr Pius urged the people of the community to embrace the cross into their lives with faith as they experience Christ in it. The parish priest Fr Valerian Pinto honoured the sponsors of the celebration with the candles; moreover he thanked all who had contributed to the success of the celebration of the feast.

The liturgical ceremony was conducted by the parish council members. The charming voices of the coir added to the spirit of the celebration. The Harry band reflected the festive moment. The youth association entertained the people with various stalls of games and entertainment after the mass at the church ground.
