Mangaluru, Feb 29: MP Nain Kumar Kateel gave information on development works in progress under his constituency and also unveiled a book on his achievements in the last 15 years as an MP.
Addressing media at a press meet held on Thursday, February 29 at Ocean Pearl Hotel, Nain said, “The BC Road to Mukka Road project has commenced, envisioned as an elevated highway with six lanes. Construction progress reveals elevated sections in certain areas. KNR is actively involved in the project, with another agency having completed 50% of the work, spanning Melkar, Nelyadi, and Panemangalore to Udupi. Progress at Bikarnakatte stands at 30%. Earlier hurdles in land acquisition have been resolved. Work is ongoing towards Kudupu, with rapid completion anticipated for underpasses near Kaikamba and Moodbidri.
"The Vande Bharat train originating from Kochi is set to extend its route to Mangaluru, with plans underway to further expand its service from Mangaluru to Madgaon and eventually Mumbai. Progress is also being made on road infrastructure, with the Charmadi and Dharmasthala roads in advanced planning stages, extending up to Mysore. These projects fall under the National Highway network. Tender processes for projects in Nantoor and KPT have faced delays due to protests regarding tree cutting. Once the stay is lifted, work will resume at full capacity. Additionally, the Plastic Park project has reached 70% completion. However, challenges persist with land leased to Fisheries merchants, who are reluctant to return the land despite the lease tenure expiring,” he said.
District BJP president Sathish Kumpala said, "MP Nalin Kumar has been instrumental in driving progress and development in our region, particularly as we approach upcoming elections. It is important to highlight the work that has been accomplished under his leadership for the benefit of our community. We take pride in having Nalin Kumar Kateel as our representative, and the trust placed in him by the people through their votes has been truly gratifying. Since 2009, there has been a noticeable increase in funds allocated to our region, a testament to the faith placed in the BJP party and our MP. Roads that were once neglected have been improved, and significant advancements have been made in the development of the Mangaluru railways, as well as the revitalization of Bunder. The introduction of the Vande Bharat rail system in our district is yet another milestone. Moreover, the Smart City initiative is progressing well, and Nalin Kumar's efforts have ensured access to clean drinking water in every household. The development of the airport, support for schools through CSR initiatives from MRPL, and the nearing completion of the Plastic Park project are further indications of progress. Additionally, initiatives such as the gas pipeline facility from Mangaluru to Kochi and the provision of gas pipelines to households, alongside efforts in education and electrification, demonstrate the comprehensive approach to development under Nalin Kumar's leadership, including the successful implementation of various central government schemes.”
A book detailing the accomplishments achieved under the leadership of MP Nalin Kumar Kateel was unveiled.
BJP leaders Sudharshan Moodbidri, Premananda Shetty, Kishor Puttur and others were present.
