Mumbai, Sep 28 (IANS) A benchmark index for Indian equities Wednesday was ruling on a quiet note as traders took a breather after the huge rally in the previous session.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the BSE opened at 16,663.26 points, and was ruling at 16,498.8 points -- down 25.23 points or 0.15 percent from its previous close at 16,524.03 points.
The Sensex had soared over 450 points Tuesday.
The 50-scrip S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was also trading lacklustre, 0.19 percent down at 4,961.7 points.
Broader markets were also flat. The BSE midcap index was up 0.08 percent, while the BSE small cap index was ruling almost unchanged from its previous close.
