Mangalore: Campaign Against Plastic Begins in Padupanambur

Mangalore, Oct 3: A general awareness campaign on the plastic menace was held at Padupanambur, near here, on Sunday October 2, under the aegis of Lions Club of Mulky, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project, Mulky, high school health clubs of Mulki, Haleyangady Government Pre-University College, Padupanambur gram panchayat, and Padupanambur Friends.

Dakshina Kannada district-in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar inaugurated the campaign on Sunday morning.

Speaking on the occasion, Palemar said that the state, through Environment Control Board, will annual environmental awards on gram panchayat, zilla panchayat, town council and municipality levels for those who excel in shunning plastic.  He added that Padupanambur gram panchayat has already made its beginning in this matter.
