Kundapur: Man Trying to Sell Peacock Caught

Kundapur, Oct 10: The personnel of the special forest mobile squad arrested a person named Chandra (38) from Gerusalu in Hosangady in the taluk on Saturday October 8, when he was trying to sell a peacock.

The police squad had been tipped off about the possibility of the accused coming to the spot with a peacock for selling it. The squad, headed by police sub-inspector, Manjunath K R, arrived on the spot and arrested the accused.

The peacock in his possession was confiscated. The case was transferred to the range forest officer, Shankarnarayana, for further investigation.

The operation was conducted under the directions of V R Anwekar, superintendent of police, forest CID unit.
