Mangaluru: PA First Grade College organizes annual sports day

Mangaluru, Apr 24: The annual sports day of PAFGC was held on April 23 at PACE ground with great zeal.

The sports day is a vibrant celebration of athleticism, teamwork and unbridled enthusiasm. It involved a huge participation of students from different departments. It was a day filled with fervours and excitement experienced amidst thrills, stills and cheers. 

The inaugural ceremony began with formal procedure seeking the blessing of almighty by Ishan Sheik from third year BBA. Chief guest Vinod Kumar, national level athlete and master power lifter, in his inaugural in oration, stimulated the participants on the benefits of sports in maintaining balanced health and fitness. He urged students to participate in sports with sincerity. Dr Surfraz J Hasim, principal PAFGC in his address stated that sports day is a hands-on learning experience to prepare the students to exhibit their talents and prepare them to face the competitive world. 

Dr Sajesh Ragunath, principal PA Institute of Physiotherapy, professor Ismail Khan, vice principal, PA Polytechnic, Faizal, head of CPOD, Dr Iqbal, Physical director, PACE and Ibrahim, sports coordinator were present on the dais. Students in colourful jerseys, palpable energy and collective pride participated in different events and showcased their true sportsmanship. 

Sheik Safwan, third year BBA compered the programme while Liya Thanas, first year FND welcomed the gathering. Hiya Ashique, first year FND proposed vote of thanks.
