Bangalore: Illegal Mining: CBI to File Charge Sheet Soon


Hyderabad/Bangalore, Oct 12 (PTI): The CBI today said it is confident of filing charge sheet against former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhana Reddy and his cousin Srinivas Reddy in the illegal mining case within the stipulated period.

"We filed charge sheet in Satyam case in just 45 days. We are confident that we will file charge sheet within 90 days in this (illegal mining) case also," CBI joint director V V Lakshmi Narayana told reporters here.

Janardhana and Srinivas has been named prime accused by CBI in the case.

As per law, the agency has to file a charge sheet against a person within 90 days from his day of arrest.

Reddy was arrested on September 4 from his residence in Bellary. He was brought to Hyderabad and lodged in a jail as his bail application was rejected by a local court.
