Puttur: St Philomena Premier League 2024 auction held at St Philomena College

Puttur, May 9: The department of physical education, in collaboration with the student council, successfully organized the St Philomena Premier League (SPL) 2024 auction at the Spandana Seminar Hall on May 7. The event was inaugurated by the vice principal of the college Dr Vijaya Kumar Moleyar, who expressed his best wishes to the participants and organizers.

Dr Elias Pinto, physical education director of the college led the bidding process, with Dhanya P T providing valuable assistance. Nine teams actively participated in the SPL 2024 auction: Philo Hawks, Team TXM, Team Xavions, Team Maveriks, Team Agasthya, X Clussers, Team Squadron, Agni Brothers, and BSC Monks United. Each team demonstrated exceptional enthusiasm, reflecting the spirit of competition and solidarity among the students of St Philomena College.

The SPL auction serves as a significant platform to promote sportsmanship and entertainment while reinforcing the values of teamwork and leadership among students. The ‘St Philomena Premier League’ event aims to foster interest and engagement in the game, offering students the chance to immerse themselves in the culture of cricket.

The organizers expressed their gratitude to all participants, faculty members, and the student council for their unwavering support in making the SPL 2024 auction a remarkable success and look forward to the exhilarating tournament that awaits and anticipate a season filled with thrilling matches and moments of sportsmanship. Student council office bearers Vipin, president of the student council, Samruddhi Shenoy, joint secretary and Varsha, joint secretary also were present during the proceedings of the auction.
