Puttur: St Philomena College NSS special camp valedictory ceremony at DKGPHP School, Biliyur

Puttur, May 9: The valedictory ceremony of the annual special camp of the NSS, St Philomena College was recently held at DKGPHP school, Biliyur. The programme was presided over by the college principal, Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro.

In his address, he stated, “Living together in a school for seven days introduces the campers to hard work. The life experience gained in such camps is invaluable. The work we do, no matter how small, is done without expectation of reward. If a small gesture can positively impact someone’s life, then we have fulfilled our duty. If the students develop a mutual understanding and an attitude of helping others, the purpose of the camp will be fulfilled.” He expressed gratitude to the school management for assisting in organizing the camp and congratulated the headmistress, the school development committee, and various organizations that contributed.

Dr Radhakrishna Gowda, head of the business administration department, delivered the closing speech. He informed the students about the National Service Scheme and the importance of the annual special camp, sharing his experiences as an NSS volunteer and officer. Dhanya Kumar, chairman of the school development committee of DKGPHP school, Biliyur, along with members Ganesh Raj, Honnappa Poojari, and Sheela Diana Moras, the school head mistress, were present on the dais.

Dhanyashri and her team led the prayer. The event was organised by camp officers and Vasudeva N and Pushpa N proposed a vote of thanks. Chaitra, the assistant camp officer, acknowledged the donors. Dhanya P T, assistant camp officer was present.
