Mangalore: Mithun Rai Elected Youth Congress President

Mangalore, Oct 15: For the first time in the history of Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency, president of the youth Congress unit was chosen through election process this time. Mithun Rai, who had earlier worked as the president of Mangalore University All College Students Union and SDM BBM College Students Union, was elected as the new youth Congress president of this constituency.

The process of choosing president for the youth Congress unit began in August. Last week, the process culminated in the election of members registered in different assembly segments and booth level office bearers. A total of 982 members were elected as delegates. These delegates participated in the process of polling which was conducted at different places on October 12 and 13. Counting was taken up on Thursday.

Mithun Rai polled 452 votes as against 148 mustered by his nearest rival, Tejaswiraj. The other six aspirants were way behind. The returning officers then declared Mithun Rai having been elected.

In the meantime, presidents for the following youth Congress assembly units were also chosen. They are, Pravinchandra Alva (Mangalore South), Abdul Sattar (Mangalore North), Siraj Kinya – (Mangalore - Ullal),  Vishwanath Gowda (Bantwal),   Ram Pakkala (Puttur), Pradip K C (Beltangady), Yatish Gowda (Sullia), and Sandesh Shetty (Moodbidri).

    It's very good to hear that we have a great personality in these days named mithun Rai the president of youth congress. He is a genuine example for a coming days and a person who can raise voice against injustice,corruption,unethical activities without any discrimination. For a beautiful construction of state we need the person like mithun Rai It will be a great pleasure if we have him as parliament candidate of mangalore in future. He is a candidate who extend his opinion against the corrupt politician
