Bantwal, Oct 15: The Anti-Corruption Forum organized a ‘Free From Corruption Day’ at B C Road on Friday October 14, with the slogan of corruption-free Bantwal and reformed society. 

VHP president Ashok Shetty released the handbills—a plea to government employees—during the programme. Lawyer Ashwani Kumar Rai, child rights activist Geo D’Silva, social activist P A Rahim, and Vishwanat Bantwal addressed the gathering on the occasion.

The aided primary school teachers’ association president B Ramachandra Rao spoke on the objectives of the programme and aspirations. Forum’s chief convener Bhanuchandra Krishnapura welcomed the gathering. Journalist Farouq Bantwal proposed the vote of thanks. 

The activists later met Tahsildar Narayan Rao and presented a memorandum to him in order to forward the same to chief minister D V Sadanand Gowda urging him to take administrative action in organizing such programmes across the state.

The activists presented handbills along with roses to various government officials in the taluk.  The activists hope the government officials will get the message to introspect and reform.
