Udupi, Oct 18: Jagadish Rao (65), widely known with the name, ‘Tulasidas’ among the frequent visitors of Sri Krishna Mutt here, passed away on Tuesday October 18.

Rao had been consistently collecting and offering some quantity of Tulasi (holy basis) twigs, believed to be close to the heart of Lord Krishna, to Sri Krishna Mutt here every day without fail, since the last  about two decades.

He did this offering without seeking anything in bargain, and as a purely voluntary gesture. All the eight Mutts here benefited from his services, and have been appreciative of his unflinching love for Sri Krishna.

Paryaya Sri Lakshmivarateertha Swamiji of Shirur Mutt has termed Rao’s demise as a void that cannot be filled. He said he has prayed to the Lord for granting salvation to the departed soul.
