Mangalore: New Block, Technical Course Inaugurated at Xavier Institute, Konaje

Mangalore, Oct 20: A new block named ‘Sidney Pinto Block’ at Xavier Institute, Assaigoli, Konaje, here was inaugurated recently by Justice Michael Saldanha, retired judge of the Karnataka High Court.

Also a new mechanic motor vehicle course supported by HSBC Bank, was inaugurated by Malini Thadani, head Group Communications, Corporate Sustainability and Public Policy, HSBC.

The Vicar General of Mangalore diocese, Monsignor Denis Moras Prabhu blessed the new block.  Walter D’Souza, chairman (SR) of Federation of Indian Export Organisation was the guest of honour.

The chairman of the Trust, JJV Fernandes, welcomed the gathering.

Sudhir Raj B Kotian, principal of the Institute, read a brief history of the Trust and the Institute. Secretary, F M Lobo proposed the Vote of Thanks.

Dr Rajesh D’souza, professor and head of Civil Engineering, P A College of Engineering, who is also one of the trustees, compered the function.
