Mangalore: 'Tiara 7' Technical Fest Kick-starts at St Joseph Engineering College

Mangalore, Oct 20: Technical fest ‘Tiara-7’ organized by Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, St Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor, was inaugurated at Fr Fred Memorial hall of the college here on Thursday October 20.
 
While inuagurating the fest, Prof T Narayan Shaunbaug of Canara Engineering College said that mere classroom lessons do not provide clear cut knowledge about the practical world, rather events such as these help students gain knowledge about latest technologies, therefore students should not miss these activities, he added.

Various colleges will be taking part in this four-day fest. There will be technical presentation, non-technical events, cultural events, debates among others. This is the seventh year that the fest has been organized in this college.
 
Director Fr Valerian D’Souza, was the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, he said that in this fest academicians, industrial persons come together for the benefit of humanity by focusing the contribution in the field of technology as a concern. These fests also give intellectual joy, he asserted.

Assistant director Henry Mascarenhas, principal Dr Joseph Gonsalves, branch counselor Prajwal D’Souza, Fr Joseph Lobo were present on the dais.
