Mangalore, Oct 20: The blame game over electricity problem faced by the people in the state still continues. After district BJP unit held a protest at the same venue, in front of DC’s office complaining of ‘step motherly’ treatment by the centre on Tuesday October 18, today on Thursday October 20, district congress leaders came down heavily on the BJP led state government for misleading the people on the issue by blaming the central government.
 
Addressing the protestors MLA Abhayachandra Jain stated that when state BJP president K S Eshwarappa was the energy minister, irregularities amounting to crores of money while procuring coal had occurred and the issue has come to light, he said. He further added saying that when mistakes happen due to the state leaders, then pointing fingers at the centre is not a wise move in politics, he asserted. Also the proposal of increase in price of electricity by Rs 1.25 is condemnable. People who are silently observing all the chaos will give an answer at the right hours, he said.

Youth Congress president Mithun Rai said that every citizen expects good to happen during the festive season of Diwali, but the state government has gifted ‘darkness’ this Diwali season through frequent power cuts.
