Udupi: Trains on Konkan Line to Accelerate from November 1

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Oct 21: As the slower running schedule of trains moving on Konkan railway line, drawn as a precaution during the rainy season, will come to an end on October 31, all the trains on this route will regain their speed on November 1, said Udupi Railway Yatri Sangha president, R L Dias, in a press release.

He clarified that the trains which begin their journeys before midnight on October 31, will continue to run as per previous time table till their reach their destinations.

He has advised the passengers to board their trains on October 31 and November 1 as per the timings shown in their tickets. He has advised them to contact the officials at the respective railway stations and seek clarifications if the tickets do not show proper timing of the trains.

I can say we are unfortunate. The Karnataka Government is more keen on development of Bangalore and Mysore region. The other parts of the state including north and coastal Karnataka have received raw deal always.

Mangalore is the second highest revenue generating city the state. But our govt is not thinking about giving basic facilities to this region. Govt is more keen about doubling Blore-Mysore railway line(it is nearly 50% complete) and developing express NICE road.

I am not against Blore, Mysore region development. But other parts of the state should not be ignored.

I am also dreaming about traveling between Bangalore-Baindoor in night train for just 300 odd bucks. Unfortunately I am paying 610 Rs to private bus for single trip during Deepawali next week. Whom to blame for our condition?

If this imbalanced growth continues, one day Telangana kind of protest will come in K'taka too.
