Bantwal: Elderly man hit by bus while crossing road, dies

Bantwal, Jun 9: An elderly man was fatally hit by a bus while crossing the road on the morning of Sunday,June 9 in Tumbe.

The deceased has been identified as Sesappa Poojariy (89), a resident of Mudalmeppadpu near Tumbe. Sesappa was on his way to Tumbe market to buy household items when he was struck by a government bus traveling from Mangaluru to Dharmasthala while crossing the road in front of Vaishali Hotel.

The impact of the collision caused severe injuries to his head and face. Despite being rushed to the hospital, doctors confirmed that he had already passed away. Melkar Traffic SI Sutesh and his team visited the scene and have registered a case.

    RIP! Pity that an 89 year old had to go to the market, crossing the deadly highway, to buy household items; wonder what the younger members of his family were doing at home? People have lost their humane qualities and care two hoots for the aged people!!

    Rudolf R.Mumbai,we dont know his family situation.May be he is alone others must have gone to work?However since his age must have not heard bus approaching.People cross roads without looking right and left.Buses too are not careful,run as if on the highway No tactful careful.May his soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathy to his family :
