Mangalore, Oct 23: Leaders of district unit of JD(S) held a protest in front of the Gandhi’s Statue located near Town Hall here on Sunday October 23 to condemn the power issue.

Addressing the protestors, district president M B Sadashiva said that the BJP led state Government leaders had planned to make illegal business again in coal and so the people are made scapegoat and are made to believe that coal is not available to produce electricity.

The management of the state Government has completely failed in carrying works in favour of common people, he said. JD(S) state secretary M G Hegde said that there is no presence of Government felt by the people in state. He said now the opposition parties are in a dilemma as they don’t know against whom to protest as many leaders in the ruling party are either in jail, or with possession of warrant or waiting to get bail.

The half prevailing Government is better deserved to be dissolved, he added. Highest number of days when Vidhan Soudha building is found locked is in recent three years of BJP rule, he said.

Leaders Vasanth Poojary, Shashidhar Shetty, Sukumar Bhat, Srinivas Alva, Parameshwar, Ravindra Ullal, Sushil Noronha, T Vani Shett and Gopalkrishna Attavar among others were present.
