Bantwal: Vittal hobli Jamaat Federation demands action against Beltangady MLA Harish Poonja

Bantwal, Jun 14: The Vittal Hobli Jamaat Federation has lodged a complaint with Inspector H E Nagaraj at the Vittal Police Station, demanding appropriate action against Belthangady MLA Harish Poonja. They accuse him of making derogatory remarks about mosques.

M S Muhammad, president of the Periyaltadka Jumma Masjid, stated that MLA Harish Poonja recently made a condemnable statement during a media interaction, alleging that weapons are hidden in mosques and calling for raids on such mosques.

Ashraf Muhammad Ponnotto, president of the Vittal Central Jumma Masjid, emphasized that mosques are centers of peace and invited the police to conduct inspections to prove the allegations false. He demanded action against Harish Poonja for his false statements.

Other leaders present included Abdul Hakim P M, president of the Parthippady Jumma Masjid; K M Latif Parthippady, vice president; Abdul Khader, president of Kadambu Jumma Masjid; Muhammad, president of Kudtamugeru Jumma Masjid; secretary Hasainar Musliyar; Abbas T M A, president of Ukkuda Jumma Masjid; Hamid Kanattadka, president of Kanattadka Jumma Masjid; V K M Ashraf, member of the Vittal town panchayat; Hasainar Nelligudde; Abbas Kelinge of Kelinge Jumma Masjid; Majeed Kanyana, member of the Kanyana gram panchayat; Hasainar Settibettu; Hamid Kukkaje; Sharafuddin Kukkaje; Shakir Alakemajalu; Kalandar Parthippady; Kareem Kuddpadavu; VKM Hamza; Azeez San; Shameer Palike; and V S Ibrahim.
